Playing Texas Hold’em on-line is very easy but making money out of it is quite hard. It demands a good knowledge of the game’s strategies but also a very good control over your opponents but also yourself. What misses from the most players is the tactic; a plan about what to play, where to play, when to play and how much to play.
1. Decide what the best poker site is for you.
There are thousands of poker sites available at the internet. Before you start spending your cash get acquainted with the software that fits better your needs and demands (language, support, bonus) but also with the kind of players that attracts (young, older, passivoe, aggressive, experienced players). Try to play at certain poker sites. In this way you will have a better control over the budget you spend, your statistics and the records of your opponents. You will also take better advantage of the special benefits (special tournaments and VIP bonuses and goodies).
2. Find your favorite table and game
Choose your table according to your own style and budget. For example if you have an average budget of $100 to spend then it is best to play at tables where the Big Blind is $1. In this way you will feel comfortable at betting money and in taking risk. But you should also choose a table according to your style. If you are a loose player and you enjoy bluffing then you should prefer playing at the tight tables where players fold most of the time. You can understand which tables are tighter if you check the statistics with the hands that are played and the average pot. Tight tables have lower average pot than the rest of the tables that fall into the same betting category.
3. Don’t rush into playing
Once you join a table let a round or two to pass before you start playing. In this way you can observe your opponents and get better acquainted with their style.
4. Keep your records up to date
Most poker sites allow you to keep track of your opponents by writing down your remarks at your records. Use this feature to record opponents that play too aggressively or fold all the time or are passive and make you money or even bluff all the time. If you play for a long time at the tournaments and at the ring tables of a specific poker site you can use these records not only to track down your favorite players but also in order to remember who plays what. Over time the records is a great tool you can use to have an advantage over your opponents.
5. Fold most of the times
Cash tables have a great advantage over tournaments. They give you all the time that you need  and you neither you are pressed by the increasing blinds to play your cards. So in cash tables be patient and play only the best of your cards. In this way you might participate in fewer hands but your profits will be greater in the long-term.
6. Stay calm
No Limit Texas Hold’em games can be hard to your bankroll sometimes. Some players let their emotion involve with their game. In all occasions if you feel frustrated exit the table. It is better to maintain your existing bankroll and return to your game with a clear mind than to rush into any biased decision and go All-in just because you were under the poker influence.
7. Do not risk it
Many players believe that they will achieve more profits if they go All-In Pre-Flop when they hold a strong pair like  A-A. Be smarter than that. In order to gamble all of your money you need a better excuse than two Aces. Go All-In only when you have an unbeatable completed hand like a Flush or a High Straight. In the long-term it is better to feel that you’ve protected your bankroll rather than that you gambled your money.
