Best poker set to purchase?

Hi there, my boyfriends a big poker fan, texas holdem in particular. I, however, know close to nothing about the game. I want to get him a new poker set for Christmas and would like advice on what kind of poker set a poker fan would be stoked to receive, what kind of chips, how many pieces etc. Can anyone help me out?

Go to this site www.gamblers general store.com. They are here in Las Vegas where i live, and they have been here for over 30 years. Most casino buy there supplys from this store. They have chips for anywhere from 5 cents a chip to 1.00 a chip. You can spend 500-600 dollars on a top of the line chip set, or you can spend less as well, good luck.

What are Texas Holdem poker blinds?

Poker blinds are the initial bets that are placed in the game, before any cards are drawn. In Texas Holdem there are usually two blinds, the big blind and the small blind. Typically, the player in the very first position posts a blind bet that is half the amount bet by the player in the second position. This bet is known as the small blind, and in some games, it may be as little as only a third or as much as two-thirds of the size of the second bet. The second bet is called the big blind, and it is posted by the next player to the left. Once the blind bets have been made, the cards are dealt and the next player to the left starts the first betting round.

The blind bets in Texas Hold 'em Poker are considered as active bets or live bets. For this reason, the player has the option of checking, calling, raising, or folding when the betting action comes back around to their position. When you play the beginning of the game, you can try to raise as much as you can afford, in order to win the poker blinds if all other players fold. This is called "stealing the blinds", and it works because players fear early raisers and prefer to let go of the blinds in order to prevent later losses.
