Anyone think Lady GaGa's Poker Face should've won for Video of the Year at the 2009 MTV VMAs?
Her video was sexy, futuristic, fashion+glamorous. So how could she lose to beyonce. I know Beyonce's video caused a dance. But lady gaga was just out of this world. Anyone agree?
Lady Gaga's was amazing.
Much better than Beyonce's in my opinion!
Definitely think she should have won it
My Poker Chips are on These 4 Songs as The Worst Auto-Tunes Songs
Love it or hate it, auto-tune is here to stay. Even Jay-Z’s angry song, “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” couldn’t stop the popular vocal-manipulator from being prevalent on many hip hop and pop songs throughout the year and continuing into 2009. Here is a list of a few horrible uses of auto-tune. I'd bet my poker chips that you can't find worse uses of auto-tune on the radio than these four songs.
“Pop Champagne” by Ron Browz
This single from already forgotten singer/rapper Ron Browz was hot for awhile and used often in sports as a celebration song is already dated. Ron Browz rode the auto-tune fad almost into the ground, and reportedly is shelving most of his debut record since Jay-Z released the song “Death of Auto-Tune” which was largely aimed at artists like him who masked their lack of talent behind bad auto-tune effects.
“Tik Tok” by Kesha

This late 2009 smash single by country singer turned white-girl rapper Kesha rides the current electro-pop trend in hip-hop and R&B with a minimal video game beat and corny lyrics from the 22 year old. Kesha originally dabbled in country and pop music with songs featured on MTV Teen Cribs as well as My Super Sweet 16. She broke into hip-hop by being featured on the hit track “Right Round” by Flo Ria, and through her friendship with Katy Perry, started working on more upbeat, pop/hip-hop music.
“Lost” by Gorilla Zoe
This is just a flat out weird track. Gorilla Zoe, a tough looking dude signed to Bad Boy Entertainment and also a member of Boyz N Da Hood, released this auto-tune heavy singing track in 2008. In the track Zoe does not rap at all but sings about his paranoia and fear through heavy auto-tune and an almost gothic sounding beat from Drumma Boy. It was one of the strangest and worst auto-tune songs of the year.
“Turn My Swag On” by Soulja Boy Tell’Em
Even auto-tune can’t make Soulja Boy’s horrible voice listenable. This track was ridiculously popular despite being one of the most annoying songs in history. I’ll give it credit for having a catchy and triumphant sounding beat but Soulja Boy’s repetive “melody” and singing are like finger nails on the chalkboard. He can’t sing he can’t rap, what can he do?
