poker table chairs

what would you do?

I was at a party with my fiance and mutual friends but they know her better. we were starting to play a poker game so I went to clear off a chair for me. this dude comes and takes the chair. so I tell him that that was my chair and to go get another one. he proceeds to the table and sits down in the chair. so I told him to get up and get another chair or I'll move him. he didn't move. I calmly picked him up and set him to the side. I guess people looked at my fiance with disaproving eyes and she felt emabarased by my actions. I felt I was being disrespected and thats why I did what I did. everything went smooth from there on. after we left the party she tells me she was embarassed. I asked her why, and she said because I picked this dude up and people were looking at us strange and whatnot. I was mad at her for not having my back and saying I handled the situation wrong. im typically a nice guy but he went to far.

Guys- what would you have done?
Girls- how would you have felt?

If this guy had any sense he would have just said Sorry Dude I'll get another chair and that would have been that. Sounds like he wanted to press your buttons. Your girlfriend should have seen what a butt-head this guy was being and I think she should have took your side.
