Are Poker Tools Immoral?

Millions of people worldwide play online poker, and the majority lose money. However, there is a growing number of people who now use ‘poker tools’ whilst they play. These are small programs which tell you important information as you play. This information helps you to spot things which might have otherwise caused you to lose a hand. For example, knowing there is a 65% chance that somebody else on the table has a flush, or being alerted that you have a 98% chance of winning whatever the last card to hit the table is. Poker tools like these are found at Intense Poker .

Although the use of these tools is now widespread, is it moral to use them? Not all tools just give statistical figures about how likely you are to win. Some give step-by-step tailored advice on every hand throughout a tournament. These programs are allowed by online poker sites as technically they are not playing the game, they are just giving advice. However, is it in the poker sites favour to allow them? I have yet to come across any poker room with these tools built in, so why are they only available to the individuals who wish to purchase them? A large number of people would like to play a game which relies on skill, practice and patience rather than which type of software you choose to use.
