Poker Rake Back

Should I continue to play online poker?
I play on fulltiltpoker, and normally I play $.25/$.50 NL Holdem. I've been on a streak lately and brought my bankroll from $400 to $1,600 over a few weeks. Then I played yesterday and went from $1,600 down to $1,350 and wanted to get my money back quicker, so I went to higher stakes, where the I wound up losing everything, the whole bankroll. I was so pissed and swore off poker forever, but of course this moring I already made another $600 deposit and Im back to the low stakes. I feel like this is one big waste of time, but cant stop playing and dont know what to do w my free time should I stop playing. Should I keep playing, and does anyone really win in online poker w the rake and all?
My suggestion would be never play with more the %10 of your bank roll at a time. If you can afford $600 cash-in then never sit down at a table or turny with more then $60. If your playing for fun, then once you get your bank to 2x your original deposit. cash out have and start over. If you are trying to make money, just keep spending %10 of your roll at tables. If your bank drops to %50 of what it was, then consider refilling.
Know your cut off.
Make a decision on how much money you are willing to lose in a day. if your comfortable with betting %10 of your roll at a time then maybe once you lose it your done for the day. if you get up to 1,600 maybe make a limit: if i go back down to 1,000 then I will cash out $400 and start over.
The rake.
WORST PART OF ONLINE POKER. however not a reason to stray away from it. Online poker allows you to play many hands and multiple tables at a time, If you are a WINNING poker player the rake is worth it because you can win much more much faster online then in real life. If you are a loser or a up and down player, the rake will hurt you alot, lucking out on the river and doubling up will not be the same.
Final answer:
If you like poker and you can afford it then play, play, play. if are trying to win money from it, then expect the up and downs, you WILL go on winning and losing streaks. But you cant let that get to you. Luck is always a factor, and luck is random and never consistant. If you feel stressed then take a break, play low tables or free games. Get some confidence back and get back into the higher games, just dont piss all your money away
