is it safe to use my tv as a monitor?
I have a Vizo(sp?) 32" flat panel 720p hd tv with a vga connector in the back. i do not know the exact specs nor model (not home now). i have been using my tv as a monitor (2weeks) for my desktop and everything is working fine. But today after playing online poker and switching to a game, i noticed that my tv has burn marks of the poker table. after doing research about burn marks on tvs' and how a flat panels are know to have burn marks, i'm questioning if it is even safe to use it as a monitor anymore. I know i should get a monitor but the biggest size for a good price is a 22". So, does anyone know if it is safe or should i just settle for something smaller?
please be professional and no stupid answers
it is lcd, but there are "burn' marks..how would i get them out?
It's safe, but why would you want to use your tv as a monitor? Televisions don't have as high resolutions as monitors, so everyting will look huge. Your 32 inch tv has a resolution of 1366x780 and a 22' monitor has resolution of 1680x1280.
Introduction to Online Poker
There is no doubt that poker is a game of skill and a beginner in poker should take time to learn as much possible about the game and the way it is played. Today, there are many ways of learning to play poker. One has the luxury of reading books, watching poker on TV or just browsing the internet and reading about the game and its nuances. If you are lucky to have a friend who plays poker, then you can ask the friend to teach you.
Poker is considered to be a social activity and most poker players are always willing to help beginner poker players. They can give you advice on what books to read or they might even tell you where they learned to play poker.
When it comes to TV shows about poker, beginners should realize that the shows are meant to entertain viewers. The game shown on TV will not contain the full footage of the game and will be edited to show the best parts of the play. This means that there might not be too much learn but it is still a good resource for learning.
A major mistake beginner poker players make is getting overly confident. Most beginners learn the game, win a few hands and build up their bankroll and then they think they are ready to go to the next level. However, this is not always true. If you are not ready for the next level, chances are you will lose money before you can say “Jack Rabbit”. Beginners should learn to play each level sufficiently, if necessary, they should over play the level before trying to go for the next one.
Patience is another virtue that poker players need to cultivate. A beginner has to realize that he will get bad cards as much as he would get good aggressive players. A player must always remain focused and must not make plays that he knows he should not be making. Lack of patience is the second cause why many beginner players lose. The first being skill. Players should not endeavor to play when they are tired, upset or drunk. These are some of the main reasons of losing patience and could end losing your bankroll. Also avoid playing when you are bored. Try to stay focused during the game so that boredom does not get to you.
Once a newbie poker player learns to play the game, the only way to improve further is through practice. You may have knowledge of all types of hands that can be played and won but you would have to learn to play all types of hands; win and lose them under different situations before you have your armory of skills well armed. That is why you need to practice and then practice some more.
