Who is the best and/or most exciting(and are my 'facts' correct)??

Doyle has 10 (of which i think the majority is fro No-Limit Holdem and includes Back 2 back wins)
Phil H. jr has 10 (various events)
Johnny Chan has 10 (Varios but includes a back 2 back?)
Phil Ivey won 4 in one tourny or 4 in one year??
Daniel Negranu is considered the most successfull $$ wise,
And Chris ferguson is currently leading a Points League.

Obviosly stats etc, NEVER show Exactly how much $$ has been won, becaus eof side games etc etc.

My Fav player is Devilfish but thats coz im from UK and he featured HEAVY in Tv's late night poker.

Im not a huge fan of Phil H. Jr but then i didnt like McEnroe either lol!, (although i respect Phil greaty).

Moneymaker and Raymer appear to be Flash in the pans.

I suppose the most exciting are Gus Hansen and Scotty Nugen??

Whats your ideas?

Oh, and WHY IS THEIR A LADIES ONLY Tourny?
Because of so few female players??
Coz their deffinatly as good or close to the men.

One thing that you do have to consider is that a lot of the old school players of poker won these bracelets when there was only 50 - 100 people in the World Series. Sure they are good, but they also just have the money to enter every tournament possible. Maybe I'd have 20 bracelets if I could enter every tournament. It really comes down to how much you can afford to enter.

I'm not saying these guys aren't good, but there are other mundane factors to consider in their wins that many of us just don't have the option of doing.

Keys To Online Poker Success

One option for both beginning and advanced players is online poker.  The game is different from traditional live poker and players must make some adjustments to be successful in the online poker arena.

Look in the Mirror

Self-analysis is a key component of any good online poker player.  You must take the time to identify your weaknesses and make the effort to control these problems, or leaks, in your game.  Also, you should choose games that play to your strengths instead of highlighting your weaknesses.  You may decide that your particular style of play is better suited for tournaments than cash games.  Care should be taken to avoid games that are currently out of your league.  In time your skills as an online poker player will grow and you will be able to take a shot at these games, but for now the best option is to wait until you are ready to play in the big leagues.

Stay Calm and Use Your Head

At the tables, having a cool head is a major advantage.  As money changes hands between players, this may give rise to certain emotions that impair a player's ability to play the game to his full potential.  Remaining calm and making informed decisions is of paramount importance.  If you feel that you are acting due to emotional reasons, it is best to take a break and evaluate if you are capable of continuing to play the game with a level head.  If not, then quit the game and try again another day.  Going hand in hand with calmness, a player should be thinking at all times.  Many poker opponents are very capable thinkers and have a strategy to take your money.  You must develop a strategy as well and use this strategy to make the best possible decisions while at the table.  Acting rashly is a quick recipe for disaster and will result in lost money if you are not able to control it.

As with any activity that requires a specific skill set, the key to being successful is practice.  If you don't think you are ready to play for real money or for higher stakes, then it is a good idea to take time and perfect your game before moving up to the next level.  Set goals and make plans to reach these goals.  By following this process, moving up in levels of the game will be a reward and you will be better equipped to prevail if you have actively followed a plan to get there.  Poker is a game of incomplete information and the players that are able to assembly the most information to make correct decisions will inevitable end up as winners of the game.
