In no limit hold ‘em, there is no maximum bet. A player may bet or raise any amount they wish, up to the amount that they have in front of them. No-limit hold 'em is the form most commonly found in televised tournament poker and is the game played in the main event of the World Series of Poker. In a pot-limit game, no player can raise more than the size of the total pot. In addition, a game played with a spread limit betting structure allows a player to raise any amount within a specified range.
Limit hold 'em has historically been the most popular form of hold 'em found in casino live action games in the United States. It is also known as fixed limit because the betting limits are fixed. At any given time, you can only bet in the single governing limit set for that street. During the first two round of bettin, which are the pre-flop and the flop, all the bets and raises must be equal to the big blind. In the two rounds that follow, which are the turn and the river, all the bets and raises must be equal to twice the big blind.
Sometimes a fixed-limit game is played as a kill game. In such a game, a kill hand is triggered when a player wins a pot over a certain predetermined amount, or when the player wins a certain number of consecutive hands.
Limit Texas holdem poker is a completely different game than no limit Texas holdem. Therefore, you need to adapt an entirely new strategy in order for you to do well.
