why do terrible players with terrible cards always out draw me at online texas hold em poker?

First of all that's just the game of poker, bad beats will and do happen all of the time so get used to it. But good player first of all don't usually go all in with just A-10, and if they do go all in with a hand like that they make sure that they have more chips then the other guy does. A great line in Phil Gordon's little green book, is '' i can never go broke if i have the other guy covered. Most good players will not get there chips in pre flop unless they are short on chips, they will only get the money in with hands that are already made (the nuts or something close to it) or if they have a monster draw of some kind. Plus you want people to play poor against you like that, since in the long run you will win more then you loss. Now i know that sometimes it can feel like your getting sucked out on every single hand, and sometimes you can have a run where the cards don't go your way and no matter what you do you can't seem to win. This does happen even to the best players out there, but if you are a poker player you have to look at things in the long run. I might have a run of bad cards where im down 300-400 dollars, but i know that if i just keep playing poker the right way i will look back in a month and I'll be back up again.

There are several major differences between online texas holdem and the texas holdem you've played for years at your friends house. First of all, there are no tells in online poker. Secondly, the software interface is one of the most important things in online poker. And lastly, you can always find an online game.

What happened to all of the tells?

There are lots of people that will tell you that there are still tells in online poker. I don't believe this one bit. They will say that if someone bets quick or slow, you will be able to get a feel for their play. Well, what about internet connections? If someone has a slow connection, they will play intermittently. In other words, sometimes bet slow and sometimes bet quickly. This just isn't reliable enough, so there are no tells in online texas holdem.
