How do I fix my smart 20 yr old son kicked out of ivy school being lazy but is an entreprenuerial dreamer?

He now lives at home-- on the internet trying to get himself all sorts of deals--like a music site -whatever!! We are middle class well-educated immigrants who believe in supporting ur kids. He still argues with me that he will be the next Bill Gates. Sleeps in till Mid afternoon. We have been forcing him to go to local colleges etc to get back to his Ivy league school status. He had 5 AP credits even before he started but completely skipped the first year. Played a lot of poker but does not do that any more. Has no real "bad" habits like drugs etc. just some week end drinking. He impresses anyone he meets due to his innate intelligence and good looks. Should we give him a raw dose of reality by kicking him out? Or guide him to take various challenging courses that interests him and forget about the Ivy school? Or simply keep up the pressure to get back to the Ivy school? Or support him in these crazy ventures?

If he were my son I would tell him he has three choices:

1- He goes back to college and finishes a degree

2- He gets a full time job and helps pay the bills while he lives at home and tries to get his "business" started

3- He moves out.

Simple as that.

My husband is a big time entrepreneur, but he also recognized the fact that dreaming doesn't pay the bills! He started working in the wireless industry a few years back, established a close network with the management within the company, steadily progressed "up the latter" and last winter, he left his job and opened his own wireless company! In four months time he has built four stores and is opening five more stores by the end of the year!!

Tell your son, just because you have a job or are going to college DOESN'T mean you can't dream up your own business...in fact, like my husband, he may even find his job experience is just the stepping stone he needs!!
