Can someone recommend a web-site where I can find advice for "heads-up" poker (texas holdem)?

My poker play is pretty good on a table with a few people playing, but once tournament get down to 2 or 3 people, the same tactics just do not work. Can anyone give any advice (or point me to a site that can) on playing head 2 head?

2 or 3 play is different from the rest, you have to take more chances and raise preflop with ok cards instead of waiting for the nuts. Any ace combination is an automatic raise preflop, or any pair. Protect your BB's because if you are folding a lot with only 2 or 3 left people will start to think you're weak and purposely raise your blinds to steal them. Don't all in preflop though, try to see a flop if you are on blinds. Protection and aggression work well heads up and 3 or 4 play. Any of the major card sites have tips from the pros though, FTP or Pokerstars are good for tips.

There are some very significant Texas holdem poker tournament adjustments that all poker players must know. You need to take into account these following considerations; when you are broke, that means that you are out of the game same thing when someone else is broke; when it comes to the pay off structure, your placement or position is very important if and when they go broke; there are also some cases wherein stakes are raised constantly; and finally, the hands played between the other players will affect you as well.

So let’s take the mentioned points into consideration, if you are not the first player to enter the pot, you have to play it tight. When your hole cards are a combination of ace and jack and has been raised from an early position, you should usually fold. In the early stages of the tournament, you may have an option to make an impression of a tight image by not seeing so many flops. You may find it a very useful adjustment at the latter part of the game.

When you are the first one to enter the pot being aggressive will give you an edge. If you are in the sixth position in a ten player table and you have a pocket of king/queen suited then raise the about four times the big blind when no one has entered the pot.

Paying attention to your stack as well as to your opponent’s stack size in each hand you play is very important. Be careful of the bigger stack players and the tight short stacked players at the same time. Try to play more against the average stack players especially if you are a beginner in tournaments.

Making some Texas holdem poker tournament adjustments according to your position is very crucial in your game play. The importance of your position increases in any no limit game especially in a tournament. Keep in mind to play only good hands from an early position.
