The <a href="http://www.poker-bots.com/">Advanced Poker Bot</a> is specifically designed to play Texas Hold’em. Nothing else. It has even won several awards and is certified free from spyware.

At the core of the Advanced Poker Bot is an artificial intelligence engine that is doing many things at once. It is collating data about the actions and movements of the other players, it is constructing game states, and it is comparing them against a built-in library of known poker tactics (some taken from professional players).

While all of this is occurring, the engine is also performing what is known as ‘discovery’. Though there are many meanings around this term, it basically refers to the process that the bot is performing in order ot learn to be a better player.

Results that the bot deems are negative and categorized and used just as the positive plays are. The combination of these databases create a very powerful program that will eventually amass a small library of tricks that it can employ and avoid.

Take this powerful software and now make it completely customizable. Advanced Poker Bot allows for script-style customization of the program to allow it to play the way you are comfortable with.

There are a host of included features. There is Auto-Sit Out which will remove your account from the table should you win or loose too much. There is the capability to play different table limits (no limit, pot limit or fixed limit).

The software is also advertised to be able to play on an infinite number of tables, although this doe require that you start a new instance of the poker bot for each table. The FAQ on the site is quick to point out that this is not suggested for more than 4 tables at once.

The site also advertises on the front page that the poker bot is 100% undetectable. Again, the FAQ is quick to point out that no poker bot is truly guaranteed to be undetectable. Still, the list of anti-detection features is impressive.

To begin with, the reaction times of the program are randomized to throw off anyone attempting to time the mouse clicks. This is pretty standard fare these days and very simple to do. 

The software also takes precautions against poker clients that might be attempting to snoop around within your computer. To foil the programs that attempt to take screen shots of your play screen to see if you have an open bot window, the program will run completely hidden from view.

To appear invisible to programs that record what processes are running are running on your computer, the bot hides itself in the task manager as an innocuous system process. As a final step, the windows themselves can have custom titles placed in them (such as ‘Windows Media Player’ instead of ‘Advanced Poker Bot’). This will prevent screen-shot programs and snoops from telling exactly what is minimized in your task bar.

In addition to all the above features, the poker bot is useable in over 48 poker rooms at the moment.

There are some problems with the software, however.

A few of the largest poker sites are currently not supported. Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars. There is a notice that they are coming soon, but at the moment you cannot use this bot to play on them.

There also appear to be some technical glitches that have yet to be worked out. All software has problems like this, but they are important to point out. One problem causes the bot to fold hands no matter what the odds are. This is apparently due to outdated installations of Microsofts .NET framework.

Another bug seems to cause the bot to sit out or leave the table. This apparently occurs if any part of the poker client window is covered, or if you are generating events by using the mouse or keyboard in another program. Which means at this stage, the poker bot mustbe left to run on an unused machine.

The bugs are not without workarounds, though, and are easily avoidable.

The price of the Advanced Poker Bot is a real bargain for what is included. For 100 computer licenses, $49.99 is the price of the suite. This also includes free updates for life and 24 hour tech support. Not a bad deal for any software really.

Overall, this is a nicely made, feature-rich program at an attractive price. Though support for the missing online poker sites would be a very welcome addition, it is still worth considering. There is a limited free demo available from the website at www.poker-bots.com.

I admit that I struggled with the idea of using a poker bot to play online poker, but I soon got tired of losing all the time because the sites didn’t monitor play enough to catch others using the poker bots or they just didn’t care. I really struggled with the idea. After all, isn’t using a poker bot cheating, but then I remember that there has always been cheating in the game and I shouldn’t feel guilty about it if all the other players at the table are cheating with a bot, too. That’s when I decided to do more research in finding the best poker bot for my play.

So, here’s a quick review of what a poker bot is and what it can do. Poker bots are just a basic computer program that uses statistical mathematics that’s based upon each player’s hand to decide your best probable move. It might not work all the time but it does increase your chances of winning.

Poker Bots do have limitations because they're really just a program. Poker bots have a hard time of identifying bluffs, fakes, and some of the other tricks a human poker player will use. Also, as a player using a poker bot, you really need to understand the game of poker in order to get the most out of your poker bot.

I did find out through my research that the one benefit of using a poker bot was that many were already at a level that they could win in the low stakes games, but I wanted more. I didn’t want to be an average player; I wanted to get into the higher staked games. Could a poker bot do that for me? The answer was yes and the best one I found for my money was Online Poker Bot v2.1.

I chose Online Poker Bot for a number of reasons. The main reason is that is had some characteristics the other poker bots didn’t have and that’s ability to be undetectable. It offered random delays to make it seem human and the developer said that is was so undetectable that I didn’t need to run it off a second computer. This was very important to me; I didn’t want to get kick off any sites because I decided to do what everyone else is doing!

Online Poker Bot v2.1. was a great choice for me. I loved the fact it supported 20 different poker rooms. It also gave me detailed instructions on how to set it up and use on each site. I didn’t have to be a programming genius to figure out how to use it! It also allowed for a variety of play No Limit, Pot Limit, Tournaments and Sit & go's. Online Poker Bot v2.1 gave me a lot of flexibility in my game play.

The automatic features has made me want to tell others about it. The fact it supports up to four tables at the same time makes it a great tool for today’s Online Texas Hold’em poker. I love that it automatically sits out when my profit or loss limits have been reached or when player limits fall below a minimum. That really helps on the days I’m more interested in playing than what I’m spending. Add free software updates for life to keep the program current and it become the best poker bot on the market. It’s made me competitive again and I’m not going broke anymore!
