best books for no limit games. cash and tournament style same book if possible. and i wondered what these mathmatic pokers books were mostly about. do they tell u percentages of winning and amount of outs or cover betting amounts also.
Don't waste your time reading Super System if you want to be a better poker player. All it preaches about NLTH is being aggressive, which was fine for the time it was originally written because you could run over people. Nowadays, everyone plays aggressively so the tips and fundamentals are completely outdated.
The basis for any poker education should be "Winning Low Limit Hold'em" by Lee Jones. It covers most basic ideas including starting hand values, pot odds and calculating outs. It doesn't cover principles of No-Limit, but is a great starter.
Knowing your opponent and finding tells is probably the most important thing to learn before playing NL. Read "The Book of Poker Tells" by Mike Caro. This will help you immensely in cash games and tourneys.
For strictly tournament strategy, far and away the best books are the "Harrington on Hold'em" series. I went from a below-average tourney player to above-average in about 3 months after reading this series and applying the principles taught.
